Casa de Campo Excursions

Day Trips from Casa de Campo & La Romana

Many ways to spend a day off-resort. Casa de Campo sits on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, within easy reach of some of the country’s best snorkelling, sport fishing, off-road adventure, colonial history, and cigar country. Whether you want one day off-property or several, our concierge team handles vendor selection, transport, lunch, and the small logistics so you can show up and enjoy the day.

Send us your group size, dates, interests, and any energy level you’d prefer (gentle beach day vs. full adventure circuit) and we’ll send back a tailored shortlist with timings, transfer notes, and per-person rates within one business day.

Day at sea

Bayahibe snorkelling, Saona and Catalina Island day trips, and deep-sea fishing on a Hatteras 53 are all bookable from the Marina. Half-day options run morning or afternoon; full-day trips include lunch, beach time, and stops at multiple snorkel sites. Family groups, multi-generation parties, and certified divers all welcome.

Land adventures

Off-road buggy tours through La Romana’s sugarcane countryside, jungle zipline circuits, ATV adventures, and horseback rides along the coast. Tours run 3 to 6 hours, include lunch and transfers, and vary by group size. We send guests home with the photos — the operator captures and shares them within 24 hours.

Cultural day trips

Cueva de las Maravillas with its ancient Taíno cave art, the Altos de Chavón Mediterranean village inside the resort, and a Santo Domingo Zona Colonial day trip including the Alcázar de Colón. Cultural excursions pair well with a quieter rest day after a high-energy adventure or beach day.

Davidoff cigar lounge experiences with a master cigar roller, private chef catamaran charters, custom Saona Island day trips on a private vessel, and combined wellness-and-adventure days. Premium experiences are quoted per booking and usually take 5–10 days to confirm specialty vendors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which excursions are most popular?

Day at sea (Saona Island or snorkelling at Bayahibe), Cueva de las Maravillas, and Altos de Chavón are the three most requested by our guests. Sport fishing on the Hatteras is the top pick for groups with avid fishermen.

How far in advance should I book?

Popular tours (Saona, Catalina, Hatteras sport fishing) should be booked 7–14 days out, especially in high season (December – April). Private and premium experiences need 2–3 weeks. We can sometimes accommodate inside 48 hours but selection narrows.

Is round-trip transport included?

Yes — all excursions we book include round-trip transport from your villa to the activity start point. You don’t need a rental car for any of the tours we arrange.

Can you accommodate large groups?

Yes. We arrange group excursions for wedding parties, corporate retreats, and multi-family trips up to 40 guests. For groups over 12 we recommend private vessel charters for water-based tours; for land tours we coordinate multiple vehicles in convoy.

Are excursions kid-friendly?

Most tours work for ages 6+ with appropriate supervision. Saona Island, snorkelling at Bayahibe, and Cueva de las Maravillas are particularly family-friendly. For younger kids we can arrange shorter half-day options. Children pay reduced rates on most tours.

What if the weather changes our excursion plans?

For water tours we always plan a wet-weather contingency — usually swapping the day’s activity for a land-based tour and rescheduling the water day later in your trip if possible. Cancellation rules vary by operator; we lay them out in the quote so there are no surprises.
