The house-rules question, answered first
Weddings at Casa de Campo® take place at the resort’s venues: the church and plazas of Altos de Chavón, the Marina, Minitas Beach Club and the hotel. Private villas are homes in a residential community, and the owners’ rules are the same for every villa we represent: no events or receptions at the villa, no outside guests beyond the registered party, no live music or amplified sound, quiet after 10 pm. What a villa is for during a wedding weekend is everything around the ceremony: the bridal party getting ready together, a family breakfast the morning after, the grandparents with a pool and a cook instead of a hotel room. We say this first because it saves everyone a difficult conversation later.
Who books a villa for a wedding weekend
The bride’s family in one house, the groom’s in another, the bridal party in a third, and guests who prefer a kitchen and a pool to a hotel room. The resort registers everyone on the villa booking, so the whole party has access to the beach, the Marina and the shuttles for the weekend. Minimum stay is three nights; wedding weekends in high season book six to nine months ahead and are often tied to the couple’s room block, so tell us the wedding date first.
Where wedding guests stay
Vista Chavón and Bahía Chavón for Altos de Chavón on the doorstep. Las Palmas and the Marina for the Marina venues. Punta Minitas and Caleton for a beach wedding at Minitas. Transfers between villa and venue are by resort shuttle or golf cart; we arrange carts per villa.
Bridal party of 8–10 → Villa Palms, Villa Palmeras, El Cocotal (two-queen rooms for bridesmaids sharing). Parents and grandparents → River House, Villa Serenita (every room a king). Budget guest houses → Blue Cottage, La Sultana.

The weekend from the villa
Hair and make-up at the villa in the morning (your vendors, registered at the gate by us), the cook’s breakfast for the party, carts to Altos de Chavón or the Marina for the ceremony, the day-after brunch at the villa arranged with the cook for the registered party. A rehearsal dinner at the villa is possible for the registered party only, by arrangement with the cook; outside guests, music and anything that looks like a reception belong at the resort’s venues, and we introduce you to the resort’s events team for those.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we host the wedding or a reception at the villa?
No. Casa de Campo® villas are private homes in a residential community: no events or receptions, no outside guests, no live music or amplified sound. Weddings take place at the resort’s venues at Altos de Chavón, the Marina, Minitas Beach Club and the hotel; we introduce you to the resort’s events team.
Can the rehearsal dinner be at the villa?
For the registered party only, by arrangement with the cook, and without outside guests or music. Anything larger belongs at a resort venue.
Can vendors come to the villa?
Yes: hair, make-up and a photographer for the getting-ready morning, registered at the gate by us in advance.
How do guests get from the villa to Altos de Chavón or the Marina?
By golf cart or the resort shuttle, ten minutes from most villas; we arrange carts per villa for the weekend.
Can several villas be booked together for the wedding party?
Yes. Bahía Chavón, Las Palmas and Vista Chavón all have neighbouring houses we represent; tell us the headcount by household.
Do wedding guests pay the resort access fee?
Yes: US$30 per adult per night and US$15 per child aged 4 to 12, paid to the resort, which registers everyone for the beach, the Marina, the restaurants and the shuttles.
How far ahead should wedding guests book?
Six to nine months in high season; the minimum stay is three nights. Tell us the wedding date first so the villas align with the couple’s room block.
Can the villa booking be linked to the couple’s hotel block?
We coordinate dates with the couple or the planner; the resort runs the hotel block, and the villas are booked with us as separate reservations.
