Casa Minitas — Private Beach & Water Garden Estate | Punta Minitas, Casa de Campo Resort

Casa Minitas — Beachfront Estate

24 12 12

Casa Minitas occupies an elevated position in the Punta Minitas community at Casa de Campo Resort, La Romana, with Minitas Bay visible through the palms at every garden level. The private beach — a full stretch of sand with a dock extending into the bay — sits directly below the pool terrace, a configuration that puts the villa on the same shoreline as the resort's Minitas Beach Club, effectively adjacent. Arrival is across a stone-paved courtyard framed by shade trees, with the coral stone main pavilion rising ahead and the scent of the garden already present before a door has been opened.

The main living pavilion has a dark mahogany vaulted ceiling, a curved built-in plaster banquette sofa, and a driftwood root coffee table on a stucco floor. A second covered pavilion adds coral stone columns, mahogany beam ceilings, carved wooden totems, and a deep cream sectional for a different register of the same garden-immersed atmosphere. The dining room — a 14-seat table on polished dark mahogany floors — is the villa's most unexpected space: on three sides, the pavilion is surrounded by a shallow reflecting pool, its terracotta tile coping flush with the garden, so the table sits effectively in the middle of a water garden moat. A sculptural mahogany staircase with brass balustrade connects to the upper level, where the primary suite is also reached by elevator.

The primary suite has a curved dark mahogany soaking tub positioned at a panoramic bay-facing window, with herringbone hardwood floors and a fully travertine-lined en-suite with double vanity, frameless shower, and bidet. Of the eleven further bedrooms, each reads differently from the last: one is entirely sheathed in dark mahogany — walls, ceiling, and four-poster frame — with lime-green linens; another opens through glass doors to a private outdoor shower courtyard enclosed in coral stone; a further room has a rounded stucco end wall that makes it elliptical in plan. Two twin bedrooms carry matching Albers-style geometric art in turquoise, which gives them their own quiet coherence despite their different ceilings. A housekeeper, cook, and waiters are included with every stay, together with an in-house concierge.

Above the beach, the outdoor spaces descend in levels from the main terrace to the water's edge. A covered terrace with a white slatted ceiling and sculptural dark mahogany ceiling fan cluster holds a 10-seat outdoor dining table and a raised circular jacuzzi with a mahogany-coped surround. An adjacent lounge terrace has a curved built-in banquette sofa, woven rattan accent chairs, and a direct sightline across the bay. The main pool runs as a long rectangle toward the beach; from the pool deck, through the palms and the two thatched palapas, the dock is visible and the bay is framed at the far end of the water line. A dedicated gymnasium pavilion with mahogany beam ceilings, a full mirrored wall, and louvred glass doors holds a stationary bike, elliptical trainer, TRX system, battle ropes, and free weights, with the bay visible through the garden beyond.

The Minitas Beach Club is on the same stretch of shore as the villa's private beach — effectively adjacent. Teeth of the Dog, The Links, and the resort's spa are 1.9 km (1.2 miles) away, a short golf cart ride; the Racquet Center is 2.9 km (1.8 miles), the Marina 3.9 km (2.4 miles), and the Equestrian Center 4.0 km (2.5 miles). Altos de Chavón, Dye Fore Golf Course, and the Shooting Center are 5.5 to 6.7 km away. Casa Minitas is the address for groups that require private-compound living: a staffed villa with its own beach, dock, pool, jacuzzi, gymnasium, and 12 bedrooms — a scale that translates equally into family compound, private retreat, and event venue.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What makes Casa Minitas architecturally different from other villas at Casa de Campo?
A: The dining pavilion at Casa Minitas is surrounded on three sides by a shallow reflecting pool — a water garden moat with terracotta tile coping that brings water directly into the living space. This means guests dining at the 14-seat table are seated within a water garden rather than beside one. The feature is built into the property's own construction and does not appear at any other villa in the resort's photo archive. Combined with a private sand beach and dock below the pool terrace, it gives Casa Minitas a two-part combination of water-garden architecture and direct sea access found at no comparable property.

Q: Does Casa Minitas have its own private beach?
A: Yes. A private sand beach with two thatched palapas, sun loungers, and a dock extending into Minitas Bay sits directly below the villa's pool terrace, connected by the garden lawn and steps. The resort's Minitas Beach Club — with water sports, a bar, and additional lounging facilities — is on the same stretch of shore, effectively adjacent to the villa's own beach. Most guests find the private beach and dock sufficient for daily use; the Beach Club is there when more is needed.

Q: Is there a fitness facility at Casa Minitas?
A: The villa has a dedicated private gymnasium in a separate pavilion with mahogany beam ceilings, a full mirrored wall, and louvred glass doors that open to the garden with bay views beyond. Equipment includes a stationary bike, elliptical trainer, TRX suspension system, battle ropes, and free weights. The gymnasium operates independently of the resort's shared Fitness Center, which is also available to all guests through the resort registration program.

Q: How far is Casa Minitas from the golf courses?
A: Teeth of the Dog — ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards — and The Links are both 1.9 km (1.2 miles) from the villa, a short golf cart ride. Dye Fore Golf Course, positioned on elevated cliffs above the Chavón River adjacent to Altos de Chavón village, is 5.5 km (3.4 miles) away. All three courses are accessible through the resort's guest registration program. Golf carts can be arranged through the villa's concierge team.
