Step through the wooden lattice gate at La Madera and the brick driveway curves under mature trees, past low wood pavilions and a tropical garden, out to a clifftop lawn with the open Caribbean Sea past the seawall. The villa sits in Punta Águila, Casa de Campo's western cliff pocket, and is one of the resort's earliest homes — designed by Bill Cox entirely in natural wood. Five bedrooms sleep ten across a multi-pavilion compound, with an included cook handling all the meals.

Mornings stay easy. Walk barefoot along a wood verandah with a drink, the sea audible past the trees. Pine and tropical hardwood panelling runs throughout — the kind of finish you can't order new. By midday the group has split: half on the pool deck above the rocky shoreline, the rest between the private fitness room and the long outdoor table under the old shade tree. The pool faces west toward Catalina Island, and most evenings end on the lawn with sundowners and dinner outside under the open sky.

The villa sits on the resort's quiet western edge, a short cart ride from Teeth of the Dog (ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards) and the Hotel & Spa. Minitas Beach and the Equestrian Center are both close by, with the Marina and Altos de Chavón a longer drive at the other end of the resort. Q: What does the cook prepare during a stay at La Madera?
The cook handles all the meals at the villa — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — working with the group's preferences and any dietary needs you share in advance. Most groups eat outside under the old shade tree at one end of the property, with the sea in view; the indoor dining room seats eight under a vaulted wood ceiling. Grocery shopping and any specialist menu requests are arranged through the resort concierge before arrival, so you don't have to plan anything before you land.

Q: How far is La Madera from the championship golf courses?
Teeth of the Dog is a short cart ride from the villa, with The Links right next door — both tee off from the central golf area on the resort's southern side. Teeth of the Dog is ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards. Dye Fore at Altos de Chavón is a longer drive at the eastern end of the resort. Tee times are arranged through the resort concierge and green fees are paid at the pro shop. Note: golf at Casa de Campo is not complimentary, and green fees apply for every player.

RESORT FEE
All guests renting private villas at Casa de Campo Resort are required to register to gain access to the resort and its amenities. Registration fees are set by and paid directly to the resort:
• US$30.00 per adult, per night (ages 13 and older)
• US$15.00 per child, per night (ages 4–12)
• Complimentary for children under 4 years old

RESORT FEE / ACCESS & AMENITIES INCLUDE
Each guest will receive an ID with personal information and details of their stay that will provide access to the following services and amenities:

Rental Policies

Security Deposit: A security deposit equivalent to one (1) night’s rental rate is required to cover any loss or damage to the property or its contents during the stay.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • If the Guest cancels a reservation sixty (60) days or less prior to arrival, or any reservation during the Christmas and New Year holiday period, all payments made are non-refundable.
  • If the Guest arrives and decides to depart early or cancel the stay for personal reasons, no refunds will be issued for unused rental nights.
  • If the property becomes unavailable or uninhabitable due to circumstances beyond the Owner’s control (including but not limited to fire, hurricane, earthquake, strike, riot, or other force majeure events), the Owner will refund all payments received.
  • In the event of late payment or non-payment, the Owner/Manager reserves the right to cancel the reservation if the outstanding balance is not received within three (3) business days of written notification.

Payment Policies

A partial payment in the amount of 50% of the grand total is due upon booking. Remaining payment is due no later than 60 days prior to arrival. If the booking is made after [or within 30 days of when] the second payment would be due, then this payment will be combined and due together with the first payment.
