Step out onto the back terrace at Los Mangos and the lawn runs for a full acre. It's wide enough to lose a soccer ball in, with the pool stretching down one side. The villa sits in the Los Mangos pocket of the resort, a short walk down to Minitas Beach with towels under your arm. Seven bedrooms sleep sixteen, with an included cook handling the meals.

Breakfast on the back terrace tends to run long. By the time the dishes are cleared, the kids are on the lawn with a ball and the adults are spreading out across the property. Some of the group walks down to Minitas with towels under their arms. The rest end up at the pavilion at the far end of the lawn, where most of the grilling happens. Most of the bedrooms open onto a private garden shower behind a glass wall, which is the part of the villa nobody who's stayed here stops talking about. By sundown that pavilion is the gathering point, drinks in hand and the kids being called in off the lawn.

The villa is within walking distance of Minitas Beach, with the Marina and the Spa a short ride up the road. Teeth of the Dog (ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards) and The Links both tee off a short cart ride from the door. The Racquet Center and the Equestrian Center are close enough for a morning excursion, and Altos de Chavón above the river is worth a sunset dinner the night before everyone packs. Los Mangos is the villa to book when a big family wants the kids on the lawn and the grandparents on the terrace and nobody pressed to be in the same room as everyone else.

RESORT FEE & ACCESS
All guests renting private villas at Casa de Campo Resort are required to register to gain access to the resort and its amenities. Registration fees are set by and paid directly to the resort:

• US$30.00 per adult, per night (ages 13 and older)
• US$15.00 per child, per night (ages 4–12)
• Complimentary for children under 4 years old

Resort fee provides access to:

• Golf courses, Fitness Center, resort restaurants, sports facilities, and other activities.
