Can You Visit Casa de Campo® Without Staying There? Day Passes, Access and What It Costs (2026)

Oct 21, 2026Planning Your Trip, Resort Guide, Travel Tips

Every week someone asks us the same thing: “We’re staying in Punta Cana — can we just drive over to Casa de Campo® for the day?” The honest answer is yes and no, and the resort’s own website does not spell it out. Casa de Campo® is a gated, 7,000-acre private resort, and as of 2026 there is no published day pass you can buy at the gate. But several parts of the resort are open to visitors with a reservation or a ticket, and knowing which ones saves a wasted drive from Bávaro.

Below is what actually works, what each route costs, and where the line is drawn — the beach in particular.

Is There an Official Casa de Campo® Day Pass in 2026?

No. The resort does not list a day pass on its website, and the Minitas Beach Club page does not offer one either. Older travel-forum answers quoting a $40 or $75 beach-and-lunch pass date from well over a decade ago and carry notes that the product was withdrawn. If a third-party site quotes a 2026 “day pass price”, treat it with caution — none of the figures we have seen come from the resort.

What the resort does operate is an access system. Everyone inside Casa de Campo® holds some form of access: hotel guests through their room, homeowners through their residency, villa renters through the resort access fee, and visitors through a specific reservation or ticket. That last category is the one a day visitor fits into.

How Non-Guests Actually Get In

A Restaurant Reservation at the Marina or Altos de Chavón

The restaurants at the Casa de Campo® Marina and in Altos de Chavón accept outside diners. Book directly with the restaurant, bring photo ID, and tell the gatehouse you have a reservation; confirm the access arrangement when you book, because the restaurant, not the gate, is who registers your visit. Lunch at the Marina followed by an afternoon walking Altos de Chavón is the most common day-visit itinerary, and it costs nothing beyond the meal. Our restaurant guide lists every option by area with dress codes.

Altos de Chavón

The 16th-century-style stone village on the cliff above the Chavón River is free to walk around and accessible around the clock. The Regional Museum of Archaeology charges a small admission of around $3, and concerts at the 5,000-seat amphitheatre need an event ticket. For many visitors this is the whole point of the trip; our Altos de Chavón guide covers the galleries, the church of St. Stanislaus and the restaurants with canyon views.

Ticketed Events

For resort events such as the Casa de Campo® Food & Wine Festival, the resort’s own instructions for 2026 are explicit: guests without existing Casa de Campo® access must visit the designated access office with a copy of their ticket and valid ID, complete the required form, and obtain an individual entry code. Allow fifteen to twenty minutes for this on arrival, and park at the Marina, where golf-cart shuttles run to the event entrance.

The Marina

The Marina — restaurants, shops, the yacht club and the departure point for Catalina Island boats — is the part of the resort most used by visitors. Catamaran operators sailing to Catalina and Saona collect passengers here, and a confirmed excursion booking works the same way as a restaurant reservation at the gate.

What a Day Visitor Cannot Do

Minitas Beach and the Minitas Beach Club are reserved for resort access holders: hotel guests, homeowners and villa renters whose resort access fee has been paid. There is no beach day pass, and a Beach Club lunch reservation does not by itself open the beach, loungers or pools. The same applies to the resort pools, the Spa’s facilities beyond booked treatments, and the shuttle network. The golf courses are the same: you must be a registered guest to book a tee time, so a round of golf is not possible on a day visit. If a beach day is the reason for the visit, the honest advice is to stay inside the resort rather than drive in.

The Villa Route: What Access Really Costs

For most people asking about a day pass, the comparison that matters is with staying. A villa rental at Casa de Campo® comes with the resort access fee charged on top: in 2026 it is $30 per adult per night and $15 per child aged 4 to 12, and it is what unlocks Minitas Beach, the pools and registered-guest green fees. Villas with a cook and housekeeping included start from $600 per night across our collection; rates vary by season and are confirmed for your exact dates.

Practical Notes for a Day Visit

Bring passports or national ID for everyone in the car; the gate photographs ID. Drive to the main entrance on the La Romana–Higüey highway, not the Marina or Altos service roads. Dress codes apply at the restaurants (collared shirts for men at dinner in most of them, no swimwear at the table at lunch). And set expectations with the group: a visit means Altos de Chavón and the Marina — not the beach or the golf.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a Casa de Campo® day pass?

There is no official day pass in 2026. Access for visitors comes with a restaurant reservation, an excursion booking or an event ticket, each paid at its own price. Beach access is not available to day visitors.

Can non-guests go to Minitas Beach?

No. Minitas Beach and the Beach Club are for holders of resort access: hotel guests, homeowners and villa renters who have paid the resort access fee.

Can I eat at Casa de Campo® restaurants without staying there?

Yes. The Marina and Altos de Chavón restaurants accept outside reservations. Book directly, bring ID, and confirm the gate arrangement with the restaurant when you book.

Can non-guests play Teeth of the Dog®?

No. You must be a registered guest to play: tee times on Teeth of the Dog®, Dye Fore and The Links are for hotel guests, homeowners and villa renters whose resort access fee has been paid. A round of golf is not possible on a day visit.

Is Altos de Chavón free to visit?

Walking the village is free and it is accessible 24 hours. The archaeology museum charges around $3 and amphitheatre concerts are ticketed.

Stay Inside the Gate

If the beach, the pools and registered-guest green fees are what you are after, a staffed villa with the access fee paid is the only way in. Browse our Casa de Campo® villa rentals by neighbourhood and bedroom count, or tell us your dates and we will come back with a shortlist within a few hours.
