Boating & Fishing Villas at Casa de Campo®

For the group that comes for the water: the Marina a few minutes from the breakfast table, every bedroom a king or two queens, a cook who has lunch ready when the boat is back

Why boating groups come here

Casa de Campo® Marina sits at the mouth of the Chavón river with around 370 berths on concrete docks for vessels from 30 to 250 feet, fuel at the dock, the IBC shipyard for work, and a village of restaurants and shops around the basin. The fishing grounds are a short run offshore; the Marina’s fishing club and charter boats work year-round for blue and white marlin, wahoo, sailfish, dorado and snapper, and Saona and Catalina islands are a day trip. A villa beside it means the crew and the family are in one house with a cook, rather than split across hotel rooms, and the boat is ten minutes from the door at most.

Boating villas, verified room by room

Nine houses between the Marina and the river mouth where every bedroom has a king or two queens and no bunks, so an angler sharing gets a real bed. Rates are from-prices per night for the whole villa, before the 18% service charge.

The shared-rooms question, answered first

A fishing group is usually six to ten adults who are not couples, so the question is the same as for golf groups: how many real bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and what bed is in each. Most villas at Casa de Campo® were built for families, so a “six-bedroom villa” can be four adult rooms plus a bunk room. We shortlist boating villas only where every bedroom has a king or two queens and no bunks, and we confirm bathrooms per bedroom on each listing before you book. Two anglers sharing take a two-queen room; a king is one person or a couple.

The second question is distance to the slip. La Darsena is at the Marina on foot; Bahía Chavón, Vista Chavón and Las Palmas are a few minutes by golf cart, which we arrange per villa. Nothing on this page is more than ten minutes from the dock.

Where boating groups stay

The Marina and Darsena for the slip on foot and the restaurants at the end of the day. Las Palmas between the Marina and Dye Fore, the best value for seven and eight bedrooms. Bahía Chavón and Vista Chavón above the river mouth, with the sea in front and the Marina below. The Marina guide covers the docks, the fishing club, the restaurants and the day trips in detail.

The boating day

The dawn run

The cook packs breakfast and coffee for a first-light departure; the cart is at the door, the slip a few minutes away. Ice and bait are arranged with the Marina the evening before.

On the water

Blue and white marlin are catch-and-release here, in line with international practice; wahoo, sailfish, dorado and snapper fill the rest of the day. Charters and a captain for guests without a boat are booked through the Marina’s operators.

Back at the dock

Lunch is ready at the villa when the boat is in; the catch goes to the kitchen by arrangement and the cook turns it into dinner, billed as an extra. The pool and the shade for the afternoon.

The evening

Dinner at the Marina’s restaurants with the yachts in view, a walk around the basin, back to the villa by cart. The non-fishing half of the group has had Minitas Beach, golf or Altos de Chavón.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we bring our own boat to Casa de Campo®?

Yes. Casa de Campo® Marina has around 370 berths on concrete docks for vessels from 30 to 250 feet with a draft of up to 16 feet, fuel at the dock and the IBC shipyard for work. Berths are booked with the Marina directly; we introduce you and arrange the villa around your dates.

Can the cook prepare the fish we catch?

Yes, by arrangement. The cook works villa hours, 8 am to 5 pm, for breakfast and lunch; a dinner of the day’s catch is arranged with the villa and billed as an extra. Marlin is catch-and-release here, so dorado, wahoo and snapper are what usually reach the kitchen.

How far is the villa from the slip?

La Darsena is at the Marina itself. Bahía Chavón, Vista Chavón and Las Palmas are a few minutes by golf cart, which we arrange per villa. Nothing on this shortlist is more than ten minutes from the dock.

Can we charter a boat and a captain?

Yes. The Marina’s fishing club and charter operators run year-round for blue and white marlin, wahoo, sailfish, dorado and snapper. We arrange the charter and captain on request, billed separately; book at least 48 hours ahead in high season, December to April.

When are the fishing tournaments?

The Marina publishes its tournament calendar each season and the dates move, so we confirm them with the Marina when you enquire rather than print them here. Tell us the tournament you are coming for and we hold the villa around it.

What do the non-fishing members of the group do?

Minitas Beach, the three golf courses including Teeth of the Dog®, the Marina’s restaurants and shops, Altos de Chavón, and Saona or Catalina by boat. Children aged 4 to 12 can join the resort Kids Club. Everything is a golf-cart ride from the villa.

Do boat owners pay the resort access fee?

Yes. The access fee is charged per registered villa guest per night, US$30 per adult and US$15 per child aged 4 to 12, whether you arrive by road or by sea. Marina berth fees are separate and paid to the Marina.

What is the minimum stay, and when is the best time to come?

Three nights outside the festive period; seven to ten nights over Christmas and New Year depending on the villa. Charters run year-round. December to April is the Marina’s busiest season; summer is quieter with the same boats available.
