Polo & Equestrian Villas at Casa de Campo®

Villas within a mile of the polo fields and the stables

Planned around the horses

A polo trip to Casa de Campo® is planned around the field, not the beach. The resort has three polo playing fields and a practice field, matches are played three days a week all year, and from January to April the Polo Challenge, the region’s main polo event, sets the calendar. Riders who come for lessons, trail rides or jumping plan their days around the Equestrian Center in much the same way.

This page sorts Caribbean Paradise Homes villas by how close they sit to the horses. Every villa below is about a mile or less from the Equestrian Center, and two of them look straight onto the polo field. For the center itself, see our Equestrian Center guide; for the polo-side neighborhood, see El Polo villas, or browse all 80+ villas in the collection.

Polo and equestrian villas, on the field and close by

First the two villas that look onto the polo field, then the closest villas to the Equestrian Center: the Golf Villa pocket for smaller groups, and larger villas a short ride further. Rates are from-prices per night for the whole villa.

A polo week from the villa

Most polo weeks follow the match calendar. With matches three days a week, the days in between go to lessons, stick and ball, a trail ride or a round on Teeth of the Dog, and match days are built around the afternoon at the field.

From Le Cheval or Vista del Polo the match is part of the garden: chairs at the end of the lawn, drinks from the kitchen, nobody needs a car. From the Golf Villa pocket and the larger villas it is a short drive or golf-cart ride, which suits groups who split their days between the stables, the golf and Minitas Beach.

Villa staff usually work from 8am to 5pm, so breakfast is ready after an early ride. If you want the cook to stay on for dinner after a match, tell us when you book.

Which villa for which rider

  • Polo families who want the match from the garden: Le Cheval, with a play fort for the children, or Vista del Polo for the new modern villa and the upper terrace.
  • A couple or a small family here for lessons and trail rides: Golf Villa 8, the closest to the Equestrian Center, with a housekeeper rather than a cook.
  • Riders who also play golf: Golf Villa IX or Villa Uchi, both on The Links, with a cook included.
  • A family with young riders: Villa Esfera, with a bunk room for the children, or Le Cheval, with the play fort and the polo grounds at the end of the garden.
  • A group of twelve who want the sea and the stables: Casa Calm or La Menina, both oceanfront with a chef, or La Fabulosa for eight.

Golf Villa 8 has no private pool of its own. Every other villa here has one. Families planning around the children’s days should also see our family villas, and golfers travelling with riders our golf group villas.

At the Equestrian Center

The Equestrian Center offers riding lessons in English or Western style, jumping for experienced riders, private guides for trail rides on the resort’s cattle ranches, and a morning Horseback Tour off property, Thursday to Saturday, through cane fields and pastures. Children under six can take pony rides, and riders from six can ride on their own.

Polo is taught at every level, with classes from the assistant or head professional, chukkers, and stick and ball practice priced per horse. Riding and polo are booked with the resort: reserve them when you book your stay, or arrange them once you arrive.

Before you book

  • Polo Challenge, January to April. These are the resort’s busiest polo months and fall in high season, so the villas closest to the field book early. Enquire as soon as you have dates.
  • Resort access. Every stay needs the Casa de Campo® resort access fee, paid on top of the villa rate. Riding, polo classes and tours are charged by the resort at its own rates.
  • Getting to the stables. Golf carts are rented separately and are the easy way to the Equestrian Center from the closer villas.
  • Minimum stays. They vary by villa and season and are shown on each villa listing.

Tell us your dates, who is riding or playing, and whether you want the match from the garden. One of our villa specialists will come back with the villas that fit, typically within a few hours.
